Jaguar’s all-electric I-Pace SUV was voted ‘Car of the Year’ at the Geneva Auto Show. Renault Alpine A110 sports car, Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, the Ford Focus, Kia Ceed, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Peugeot 508 sedans are the other contenders. All the other contenders were powered by traditional engines.

In history, this is the first time a Jaguar model which is a part of Jaguar Land Rover company owned by Tata Motors of India has won an award.

Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover said, “I-PACE was designed and engineered in the UK from a clean sheet of paper. It is the most technologically advanced battery electric vehicle. It’s a true game-changer. Winning European Car of the Year is an honour and real recognition of what our world-class team has delivered.”

The Geneva Auto Show is been held at the Palexpo center and is open to the public from March 7 to 17th this year.
